🔒 Portico Archiving — In Progress
Pakistan Journal of Botany is in the process of linking with
Portico,
a leading electronic archiving and preservation service. Once fully integrated,
all published content will be permanently preserved and accessible through Portico's
dark archive in the event the journal website becomes unavailable.
In accordance with international best practices for scholarly publishing, PJB maintains
a clear plan for long-term electronic backup and preservation of all published articles.
Our archiving strategy ensures:
-
Portico — Historical and current issues are being submitted to
Portico for
permanent dark archiving. Portico triggers access to preserved content when a journal
ceases publication, is no longer available online, or experiences a catastrophic failure.
-
On-site backup — All article PDFs and metadata are maintained on
secure servers with regular backups.
-
Continuous availability — Published articles remain openly accessible
on this website for as long as the journal is active.
