PRODUCTION OF XYLANASE BY SOLID STATE FERMENTATION BY ASPERGILLUS NIGER
Abstract
The present work describes the optimization of cultural conditions for the production of xylanase by Aspergillus niger. Fifty diffcrent strains of Aspergillus niger were isolated from different soil samples Of all the strains tested, Aspergillus niger GCB-15 gave maximum production of xylanase, when wheat bran was used as substratc, urea as nitrogen source, incubation period of 72 hours and distilled water as an extractant was used
