A NEW LICHEN REPORT SPECIES FOR IRAQ FROM BYARA AND HALABJA PROVINCE

Abstract


Lichen survey for the first time from several locations in the Halabja province and the Byara were investigated between October 2017 and July 2019. Many lichen species were already known from Iraq but not yet reported from the Halabja Province. During the survey and identifications the species by using macro and micro characteristic, twenty-seven lichen species from different families and genera are reported. Nine species Anaptychia ulotrichoides, Aspicilia albosparsa, Buellia stillingiana, Candelaria concolor, Lecanora conizaeoides, Lempholemma albonigrum, Lichinella myriospora, Lichinella nigritella, Naetrocymbe punctiformis are new recorded for the first time to Iraq, but 18 others are recording for the first time to Halabja province and Byara, also these 18 species are known before from the country.
