Effects of Nanomaterials on Plant Growth at Molecular Level

Yuxin Li
Abstract

With the continuous development of science and technology, nano-materials as a new material have brought great changes to production. Because of its unique properties, nanomaterials have been applied in various industries and become a hot material. Nanomaterials also play a certain role in agriculture. Among them, the most common materials are carbon-based nanomaterials and titanium dioxide nanoparticles, which can stimulate plant growth, improve crop yield and prevent pests. However, some nanomaterials entering the environment and being absorbed by plants will have negative effects on the growth of plants. In addition, they will reduce grain production and cause damage to plants. Therefore, it is necessary to explore the influence of nanomaterials on plants, not only in appearance, but also to understand the mechanism of the influence of nanomaterials on plant growth. At present, a large number of documents have studied the influence of nanomaterials on plants from the molecular level, and the nanoparticles used in these documents are mostly carbon-based nanoparticles, metal and oxide nanoparticles, and have been studied at the DNA and protein levels. Therefore, this paper discusses the genotoxicity of these two nanoparticles on plants. This paper discusses the influence of nanomaterials on plant growth and molecular level, which will be helpful for the next stage of research.
