USE OF HOMEOPATHIC VERMICIDE GLOBULES AGAINST MELOIDOGYNE JAVANICA
Dr. Asma Hanif
Abstract
An experiment was performed to study the nematicidal effect of vermicide globules against root knot nematode for the growth enhancement of tested crops. Homeopathic globules (Kent-20 and Santonine-43) respectively, at 100 and 75% v/w concentrations recorded entire death of root knot nematode at 96 hours and reduced the hatching of larvae followed by 50% v/w concentration at different time periods. In the screen house experiment, 75% Kent-20 globules remarkably controlled the infection produced by pathogen (M. javanica) on the roots of sunflower and okra plants followed by Santonine-43 globules. However homeopathic globules infused with vermicide drugs not only improved the growth (weight/height) of tested plants but also reduced the pathogenic nematode infection in comparison over control. Kent-20 globules recorded best in controlling the galls formation produced by parasitic nematode but also showed healthy growth of non leguminous crops as compared to other treatments.
