FORMULATION OF SLOW RELEASE HUMIC SUBSTANCES COATED FERTILIZER FOR IMPROVING NUTRIENT USE EFFICIENCY AND FRUIT QUALITY OF CHILIES (CAPSICUM frutescence) UNDER GREENHOUSE CONDITIONS

Abstract
Fertilizer use efficiency is low which enhances costs born on fertilizers, leads to economic loss. To study role of Humic substances coated fertilizer on chilies aiming to investigate impact of HSs coating on slow release of nutrients and enhancing their use efficiency. The treatments were; NP @ 200 and 90 mg kg-1, NPK Blend, NPK Blend + Zn, NPK Blend+ Fe, NPK Blend +Zn + Fe. The same treatments were also applied after coating with HSs. A positive effect of sole and HSs coated nutrients on nutrient concentration, flower and fruit number, fruit weight, chlorophyll, fresh & dry biomass, tissue water contents fruit quality traits and mineral composition was recorded. The HSs coated nutrients enhanced ability of plant to retain more water and nutrients thus produced more fruit.
