Lodging Resistance of Rice under Dense Planting and Less Basal Nitrogen

Gong Dian-kai
Abstract

【Objective】The objective of this study is to reveal the effects of dense planting and less basal nitrogen on rice lodging resistance, which will lay a theoretical basis for rice dense planting and less basal nitrogen. 【Method】The experiment was carried out at Liaoning Rice Research Institute in 2017 with Beijing 1 as the experimental material. Two levels of density and two fertility levels were set, and the bending moment, lodging index and yield were measured respectively. 【Result】Compered with normal planting pattern, the yield of Beijing 1 decreased alittle and lodging resistance increased under the planting pattern of dense planting and less basal nitrogen. Correlation analysis showed that lodging index was positively correlated with plant height, high center of gravity and panicle weight, and was negatively correlated with panicle angle. The mode of dense planting and less basal nitrogen significantly reduced the plant height and high center of gravity while reduced the panicle weight and panicle length, which made the plant more upright.【Conclusion】The results showed that the lodging resistance increased under the planting pattern of dense planting and less basal nitrogen.
