Abstract

EFFECTS OF TEA WASTE IN DIFFERENT FORMULATIONS ON RECLAMATION OF SALINE SODIC SOIL Samreena Sanjrani 1, Basir Ahmed Arain , Saeed Akhtar Abro, Noor ul Ain Soomro and Taj Muhammad Jahangir2 Institute Of Plant Sciences University Of Sindh Jamshoro Corresponding author’s :email samreena511@gmail .com ABSTRACT The primary objective of this research is to remove sodium from the root zone, by using tea waste in its various formulations. The columns were filled with natural saline sodic soil (pH 9.00, EC 73.9mS/cm, Na+ 260mg/kg, SAR 63.2 and ESP 48.6) collected from natural field near Al-Manzar, Jamshoro. To understand effective leaching phenomenon the experiment was conducted in soil columns. Total 30 polyvinyl columns of 16 inch length and 4 inch diameter were used.A round plastic funnel was attached with the bottom of each soil column and then columns were fit in vertical position in an assembly made through iron pipes in net house of Institute of plant sciences, University of Sindh Jamshoro. T0 TI T2 T3 T4 T5 T6 T 7 T8 T9.The leachate water from soil after 10 weeks irrigation . In result of leachate pH ,EC,Na+(mg/Kg) ,SAR ,ESP of soil . Samples were collected before and after experiment. The result examine physical chemical properties were significantly soil were better all the treatment that significant difference (p<0.001) among the mean values of treatment. There was significant (p<0.001) reduction in soil pH, EC,Na + ,SAR , ESP in all treatments including control from an initial soil. The highest reduction was observed in tea waste ash +gypsum while the lowest values were observed in leaching control.
