White rot resistance identification and evaluation of grapevine cultivar

Kai Su
Abstract

Fungal disease is one of the major factors that significantly influence the grape quality and production especially the white rot, which can led to production cuts of 25%~75%. The discovery of white rot resistance grapevine cultivars possesses great significance in grapevine breeding. In this study, we conducted white rot resistance identification and some related physicochemical indexes determination for 101 grapevine cultivars. The result showed that, 9 of 101 grapevine cultivars showed high white rot resistance including ¡®Beibinghong¡¯, ¡®Shuanghong¡¯, ¡®Tiandong¡¯, ¡®Shuangfeng¡¯, ¡®Shuangqing¡¯, ¡®Shuangyou¡¯, ¡®Zuohongyi¡¯, ¡®Zuoshanyi¡¯ and ¡®Zuoyouhong¡¯; Grapevine cultivars white rot resistance was significantly related to stomata size and spongy parenchyma thickness, which showed positive and negative correlation respectively in plant consitutive resistance, besides that, the enzyme activity of POD and CAT as also identified and showed significant positive correlation to white rot resistance. According to the result, we discovered 9 high white rot resistance grapevine cultivars and specified some physicochemical indexes which can provide some reference for grapevine white rot resistance breeding in the future.
