Abstract

Abstract: Carex argyi grassland in the Tian-E-Zhou wetland reserve zone as the research object, the influence of different mowing frequency on the community characteristics and soil properties of Carex argyi grassland was analyzed. The result showed that the quantitative characteristics and aboveground biomass of Carex argyi community decreased significantly with the increase of mowing frequency. Firstly, while the community coverage, aboveground fresh weight under one-time mowing were not more significantly different than control treatment, Carex argyi community height, density, biomass with the other mowing treatment was significantly lower than the control treatment. At the same time, the community density under one-time mowing condition was significantly lower than the control treatment, but the community density was no significant difference with the other mowing treatment than the control treatment. Secondly, The diversity of community species showed significant changes under mowing. Moderate mowing would increase the community diversity and increase the richness of species, but the dominance of species did not change significantly. Thirdly, mowing significantly increased the content of sand in 0-30cm soil layers, and significantly reduced the clay content in 0-30cm soil layers, and had no significant influence on the silt content in 0-30cm soil layers. Then mowing had no significant effect on 0-10cm soil nitrogen content, low frequency mowing significantly decreased the nitrogen content in 10-20cm soil layer, and the frequency of mowing significantly increased in 20-30cm soil nitrogen content. while mowing significantly reduced the available phosphorus content in 0-20cm soil layer, the frequency of mowing significantly increased the available phosphorus content in 20-30cm soil layer. At the same time, mowing significantly reduced the potassium content in 0-30cm soil layer. mowing had no significant effect on organic matter content in 0-20cm soil layer, but the low frequency mowing significantly increased the content of soil organic matter 20-30cm. finally, The pH value of soil in all layers of 0-30cm showed an upward trend under mowing, and the pH value of soil in the all layers under high frequency mowing was significantly higher than that of the control.
