Abstract

Gilgit Baltistan have unique assemblage of plant species which are under the threats of climate change and habitat lost by anthropogenic activities. Flora of Gilgit Baltistan are losing in an unpredictable manner. Gilgit Baltistan consist of eight flora species such as giltica Tanacetum baltistanica, haplpphyllum gilesii, asperula oppositiofolia, barberis pesudoumbellata and Astragalus clarkeanus. Aconitum violaceum var. weileri and Rhodiola saxifragoidesare vulnerable (VU) while Tanacetum baltistanicum and Haplophyllum gilesii are found critically endangered (CR).
