Long term compost and synthetic fertilization effects on soil L- and D-amino acids and their relation with soil properties

ZARINA BIBI
Abstract

Soil organic carbon is an important source used in enhancing the soil fertility. A long-term field experiment was conducted to determine the effects of compost and NPK fertilizers alone and in combined form, on the accumulation of soil L and D amino acids leads to organic nitrogen. The concentration of both L and D amino acids was significantly enhanced in CM and HCM treated soils which prove that amino acid showed a positive response toward organically fertilized soil. Results suggested that the organic fertilizer alone or in combination with the NPK fertilizers increase the quantity of those amino acids which boost up the soil fertility by increasing the soil organic carbon, however, the long-term fertilization effect still not fully understand.
