Guanghua Liu
Abstract

Meehania henryi (Hemsl.) Sun ex C. Y. Wu is a perennial herb of the family Lamiaceae, having high medicinal and ornamental values. However, no in-depth research has been carried out on its genomic aspects. Therefore, the present study was designed to explore its genetic information and developmental relationships by sequencing, assembling, and annotating the chloroplast genome of M. henryi. The results showed that the chloroplast genome has a 151,773 bp loop structure consisting of a large single copy (LSC) region (82,986 bp), a small single copy (SSC) region (17,403 bp), and two inverted repeat (IR) regions (25,692 bp). It contains 114 unique genes, including 80 protein-coding genes, four ribosomal RNA genes, and 30 transfer RNA genes. Moreover, phylogenetic analysis showed that Meehania is closely related to Dracocephalum.
