Abstract
Ficus pumila L. has long been used as a functional plant in East Asia, especially in regions of China and Japan, where its fruits are consumed as food. The stems, leaves, flowers, and fruits of the plant have all been used to extract a variety of bioactive substances, including phenolic acids, flavonoids, terpenoids, alcohols, and steroids. Many research has demonstrated the wide range of medicinal benefits of F. pumila L., including anticancer, hypoglycemic, antibacterial, antioxidant, and cardiovascular protective activities. Moreover, it finds application in the food sector and in the creation of ecological cities. We've gathered the most recent research on F. pumila L.'s bioactive ingredients and medicinal qualities in this a review. We also investigate its function in ecological city development and its possibilities in the food business. Through this in-depth analysis, we hope to raise awareness of F. pumila L. and offer insightful information for potential future uses.
