The possible mechanisms protectiving effects of Astragali Radix on Diabetic Nephropathy
Abstract
Abstract OBJECTIVE:To review the pharmacological effects and mechanisms of action of Astragali Radix on Diabetic nephropathy. METHODS:Aticles focusing on Astragali Radix in PubMed were collected and reviewed in order to summarize the latest pharmacological effects on Diabetic nephropathy. RESULTS:The action mechanisms protectiving effects of Astragali Radix on diabetic nephropathy were associated with regulation of anti-fibrosis,anti-inflammation,anti-oxidative stress,anti-mesangial injury,anti-podocyte apoptosis,restoration of mitochondrial function,restoration of endothelial function. CONCLUSION:Astragali Radix has broad application prospects on diabetic nephropathy, and could be developed as a possible mechanism for improving prediabetic nephropathy.
