EFFECT OF SOWING DATE AND PHOSPHORUS LEVELS ON PHENOLOGY COMPONENTS OF COMMON BEAN

Muhammad Tauseef Khan
Abstract

Common bean sown at 1st March took less days to emergence (10 days), days to first flower initiation (42 days), days to pod initiation (52 days), more emergence m-2 (21 m-2. Phosphorus at the rate of 90 kg ha-1 recorded early days to first flower initiation (43), days to pod initiation (52), plant height (71 cm), as compared to control. Similarly, Black kidney bean variety showed early days to first flower initiation (42 days), days to pod initiation (52 days), maximum emergence m-2 (19), plant height (75 cm). The interactions between SD × V for days to emergence, days to pod initiation and SD × P for days to first flower initiation were found significant. It was concluded that common bean variety (Black kidney bean) sown at 1st March followed by 10th March along with the application of 90 kg ha-1 of phosphorus produced maximum phenology components of common bean.
