Immobilization of heavy metals from contaminated soil and evaluations of multivariant nanoparticles from Olea Europaea

Afia Khan
Abstract

Soil contamination is worldwide issue and major concern to the human health. Different heavy metals and metalloids become the part of the soil which are cancer causing and mutagenic in nature. In this study five different metals Mn, Mg, K, Cu and Zn were analyzed. The soil samples were collected from three different sites and then digested and measured through atomic absorption spectroscopy. Multivariant nanoparticles of plant extract of Olea Europaea were synthesized. Then the characterization of multivariant nanoparticles were done and analyzed the effect of these nanoparticles on biochemical, physiological and enzymatic attributes of spinach plants against heavy metals stress. Current study confirmed that these novel plant mediated multivariant nanoparticles improve the growth and enhance the defense system of spinach plant under heavy metal stress.
