THE ANATOMICAL STRUCTURE FEATURES OF VEGETATIVE ORGANS OF THE ALTHAEA OFFICINALIS AND LAVATERA THURINGIACA (MALVACEAE) INTRODUCED IN THE MANGYSHLAK REGION (KAZAKHSTAN)

Abstract
A microscopic analysis of medicinal plants has an essential role in the diagnostic and determining authenticity of raw materials. This article represents the microscopic studies of the Malvaceae - Althaea officinalis, Lavatera thuringiaca family which are grown in the Mangyshlak region. This study includes the leaf, stem & rhizome cross-sections anatomical structure analysis. Samples were collected at the beginning of the vegetation period, then fixed in a mixture of water-alcohol-glycerin. Next, we performed cross-sections for further inner structure analysis. Both types are characterized by similar vegetative organs structure, which corresponds to the primary source of the medicinal raw material. As a result of the microscopic investigation defined diagnostic features that are distinctive for certain types. For the leaf structure specific location of trichomes, mesophyll sections thickness and druze location were noted. For the stem - the thickness of the cortical parenchyma and the shape of the sclerenchyma sections. For the rhizome – the thickness of the cow parenchyma and the presence of one or two-row core rays. The results of this study can be utilized to determine the species in botany and pharmacognosy.
