REACTIONS OF CHICKPEA VARIETIES TO SAINITY INHIBITING APPLICATIONS AT DIFFERENT SALT STRESSES

Ruziye KARAMAN
Abstract

Salinity, one of abiotic stress factors, has negative effects especially on chickpeas. To eliminate these negative effects, effects of plant growth regulators and low dose CaCl2 salt were applied to chickpea cultivars exposed to different doses of salt stress in the study. In study, different doses of NaCl salt and SA, GA3 and CaCl2 salt to prevent this salt stress were applied on four different chickpea varieties. The research was established in Field Crops greenhouses, according to completely random plots divided spli trial design with 3 replications. In study, inhibitory applications in salt stress applied to cultivars showed a positive effect on examined traits compared to control. Among these inhibitor applications, GA3 was determined as the most effective and this application was followed by SA and CaCl2. Generally, with increase of salt doses, all properties decreased except mean germination time and proline content. Among varieties, Işık-05 variety was found to be superior in terms of seedling and germination characteristics under salt stress, while İspanyol variety was more sensitive. As a result, it was predicted that chickpea plants under salt stress could be relieved of this stress by giving low levels of GA3 in irrigation water for emergence and development.
