Abstract
Sufficient amount of essential nutrients are the basic need for plant growth, enlargement, maintenance and reproduction. Poultry manure has the capacity to enhance soil characteristics and also a source of various nutrients. In elements nitrogen is an essential for optimum yield, vegetative growth and quality of mungbean. In this context, response of (P.M) and N on mungbean cultivar profitability, an experiment was conducted at Research Farm of Agronomy, the University of Agriculture, Peshawar-Pakistan, during summer 2018. Five treatments of poultry manure and three treatments of nitrogen were used. The trial was laid out in Randomized Complete Block Design with four replications. Emergence days and emergence m-2 of mungbean not significantly affected by poultry manure and nitrogen. The treatment of (P.M) at level of 4 t ha-1 significantly affected plant height, nodules plant-1, seeds pod-1, pod length, branches per plant, days to 1st flowering, days to 1st pod initiation, 1000 seeds weight, grain yield, days to physiological maturity, biological and harvest index. Similarly, Nitrogen 40 kg ha-1 produced plant height, higher seeds pod-1, lengthy pods, more branches, flowering days, days to first pod initiation, maturity days, heavier 1000 seeds weight, biological yield, high grain yield and harvest index. Nitrogen applied at 20 kg ha-1took less flowering days, days to pod initiation, days to physiological maturity. Considering poultry manure and nitrogen interaction effect was recorded on pod length, seeds pod-1and branches plant-1 with 4 t ha-1 poultry manure and 40 kg ha-1 nitrogen. It is determined that mungbean crop performed better with poultry manure treatment at the level of 4 t ha-1 and nitrogen 40 kg ha-1 and thus suggested for more grain yield under agro climatic Peshawar conditions.
