Abstract

Objective: To analyze main factors affecting quality of microbiological examination and drug resistance of pathogens. Methods: A retrospective survey was carried out on 8974 microbial samples. The accuracy of sample cultivation, number and composition of pathogenic bacteria were collected. Results: Factors influencing quality of microbiological test include: operation level of laboratory personnel, quality of instruments and equipment, methods of specimen collection. There were 1723 specimens of pathogenic bacteria detected from all samples, and the positive rate was 19.20%. The pathogenic bacteria were gram-negative bacteria (51.65%), gram-positive bacteria (39.76%) and fungus (8.59%). The drug resistance rate of escherichia coli and klebsiella pneumoniae to quinolones and cephalosporins was higher than 50.00%. The drug resistance rate of staphylococcus aureus to quinolones, erythromycin and lactams was over 50.00%. Conclusion: The quality of microbiological examination will be enhanced by improving operating level of laboratory personnel, standardizing testing process and improving equipment and quality of specimens.
