''A TAXONOMIC AND PHYLOGENETIC STUDY OF LECIDELLA SPECIES FROM PAKISTAN''.
Rizwana Zulfiqar
Abstract
In this study, Lecidella species were collected from different areas of Pakistan and characterized using morpho-anatomical and molecular techniques. The study revealed that collected specimens belong to four species of Lecidella, of which L. tumidula is a new record for Pakistan while L. carpathica, L. patavina and L. stigmatea represent additions to the known lichens of Pakistan, from new localities. Complete morpho-anatomical descriptions, ecology and distribution, along with ITS-based molecular analysis is provided in this study.
