Soil water transmission characteristics in relation to inorganic fertilization. II. Maize-wheat cropping system

Abstract
The study revealed that the soil water transmission characteristics due to application of inorganic fertilizer were sufficiently higher than that in control plots. This means balanced inorganic fertilizer help in better root growth of wheat and maize crops. It could be due to the fact that inorganic fertilizer helps to improve the root growth of crops by the way of promoting the growth of roots. Also, the positive effect of nutrients (NPK fertilizers) on the plant biomass particularly the root biomass through the modification of pore geometry, in addition to increasing the organic content of the soil
