Abstract

Mushrooms have been used for beneficial purposes because they can produce a various secondary metabolites such as organic acids, alkaloids, terpenoids, steroids and phenolic compounds which helped enough to treat and moderate many diseases. Biological examination of the mushrooms extract developed with organic solvent is one of the great importance to treat various diseases. The completed biological assay of the mushrooms methanolic extract is of vast significance. These mushrooms are beneficial for the cancer, depression, diabetes etc. In present study two species of mushrooms have been used to perform biological assay of the methanolic extracts. The antioxidant potential of Agaricus campestris and Macrolepiota procera methanolic extracts were able against to ABTS and 2, 2- diphenyl 1- Picryle – hydrazyl (DPPH) activity. the Free radicals have the ability to take electrons from the anti-oxidants, that is why it is broadly used for the in vitro antioxidants scavenging assays of the medicinal mushrooms i.e. for its estimation purposes % scavenging (DPPH) activities of the “Agaricus campestris (97.1) and Macrolepiota procera (97.5) shows their resemblances to the ascorbic acid scavenging activities in high concentration of methonolic extract. The Anti-fungal activities of Macrolepiota procera was show significantly (p<0.05) high activity as compared to Agaricus campestris and positive control. Additionally, antibacterial activity of Macrolepiota procera indicates high activity as compared to Agaricus campestris. Therefore, it can be concluded that the both of bacteria extraction will be useful as a good source of natural antioxidants, and antibacterial for treatments of various disease
