PHYTOTOXIC ACTIVITY OF BIOACTIVE COMPOUNDS FROM FOUR PLANTS AGAINST SELECTED WEEDS

DR. TAUSEEF ANWAR
Abstract

Heavy doses of synthetic weed manipulate compounds have precipitated herbicide resistance in weeds. Bioherbicides, constitute a massive vicinity for eco-environmentally herbicides, based totally on compounds made by means of living organisms. Given that the current studies changed into conducted to test allelopathic conduct of Pinus roxburghii, Rhazya stricta, Lantana camara and Carica papaya hexane extracts towards weeds viz. Rumex dentatus, Euphorbia helioscopia, Chenopodium album, Avena. fatua and Phalaris minor at 100%, 75%, 50% and 0% concentration on agar, soil filter out and paper. Parameters for assessing allelopathic potential were the germination (percent), plumule length (cm) and radicle length (cm). Analysis became performed through STATISTIX 9. Based on the findings, it was decided that hexane extract of C. Papaya, R. Stricta, P. Roxburghii and L. Camara possesses ability supressive effects amongst which L. Camaraexhibited maximum prominent supressive outcomes on check weeds. The inhibitory consequences of germination and growth have been observed in order L. Camara > R. Stricta > P. Roxburghii > C. Papaya.
