Distribution, Status and Use of Medicinal Plants in Doga and Mhaidan valleys, Sub Division Seo, Tehsil Dassu, District Kohistan Pakistan.

Abstract


The present study of Distribution, Status and Use of Medicinal Plants was carried out in Doga and Mhaidan valleys, Sub Division Seo, Tehsil Dassu, District Kohistan Pakistan and the data was collected from 2 villages May 2018 June 2019. A Questionnaire method was adopted during the surveys randomly selected. A total 27 medicinal plants belonging to 24 families were collected for their distribution and status. Rapid assessment approach was used for data collection by interviewed the people having sufficient knowledge about the distribution and status of medicinal plants in Doga and Mhaidan valley A total of 100 informants (75 males, 15 females and 5 local health healer) were interviewed. The Aims of the study were to document the flora of Doga and Mhaidan valleys, to explore the distribution and status of medicinal plants in study area, and suggest recommendation of sustainable use of medicinal plants in the area. The questionnaire covered various aspects like social, ecological and livelihood that in one way or another affect and influence the utilization, abundance, Status, distribution and marketing of medicinal plants in the study area and use of other forest resources to meet their needs. A total of 100 questionnaires was fill up from the community.
