The Pakistan Journal of Botany (PJB), started as a biannual journal in 1969, gradually gained strength and strength and published bimonthly online and printed. Many local and foreign universities and scholarly institutions subscribe to PJB, reflecting its growing global reach. The journal features contributions from both Pakistani and international researchers, and its articles are indexed in prestigious databases including Web of Science (Clarivate), Scopus, Biological Abstracts, Chemical Abstracts, and several other indexing platforms.
Prof. Ahmed Shamsul Islam of the University of Sindh was appointed Editor-in-Chief of the Pakistan Journal of Botany (PJB) in 1968, with the journal's inaugural issue published in 1969. In 1971, following his relocation to Dhaka (Bangladesh), Dr. Abdul Ghaffar assumed the role of Chief Editor. Despite facing financial constraints, Dr. Ghaffar led the journal with remarkable dedication and continued to serve as Editor-in-Chief until 2011. In recognition of his longstanding contributions, the Botanical Society of Pakistan honored him with the title of Editor Emeritus of PJB.
Prof. Dr. Muhammad Qaiser took over as Editor-in-Chief in 2011 and has since been serving with commendable patience and unwavering commitment.

Aim and Scope
The Pakistan Journal of Botany, an official organ of Botanical Society of Pakistan, is being published bimonthly since 1968. The PJB publishes original, innovative research articles including reviews on all aspects of plant sciences including Physiology, Biochemistry, Systematics, including Molecular Phylogeny, Evolution, Genetics, Biodiversity and Conservation, Paleobotany, Ecology, all plant groups and allied organisms including Algae, Cyanobacteria and Fungi. To fulfill our mission of spreading innovative and meaningful research on plant sciences, we keep our publication charges low for authors to encourage brilliant researchers who are unable to pay higher charges.
