Nitzschia is the diverse group of diatoms commonly found in fresh, brackish and marine ecosystems. During scrutiny of diatoms, 10 new species viz., Nitzschia compressa var. compressa, N. compressa var. balatonis, N. intermedia, N. inconspicua, N. elegantula, N. frustulum var. bulnheimiana, N. perminuta, N. solita, N. paleacea, and N. scalpeliformis were recorded first time from the Kallar Kahar Lake, a brackish water body located in District Chakwal, Pakistan. Their taxonomic descriptions and geographic distribution are provided and discussed in this paper
