PHOTOTROPIC RESPONSE OF DECAPITATED COLEOPTILES
Abstract
Unilateral illumination of decapitated coleoptiles of Avena and Zea, in the first positive nge, showed phototropic response when supplied with indoleacetic acid. These observations are in- rprted as support for the hypothesis that the primary effect of light is to impair the basipetal movement ' the auxin.
