Abstract
The genus Crataegus has unique position due to its diversity, pharmacological aspects, and medicine importance. The morphogenetic characterization of genus Crataegus wa studied from division Muzaffarabad Azad Jammu and Kashmir. A total of 64 accessions of Crataegus were assessed the by using 8 morphological markers and 15 primers combinations during SSR analysis. Data was analyzed by using cluster and PCA analysis. The accessions were clustered using the Unweight Pair Group Method with Arithmetic Average method (UPGMA), and five major clusters emerged from the amplification of morphological markers and six clusters from amplification of the SSRs. The findings revealed that the SSR markers might be used as a trustworthy technique for identifying genetic differences and correlations among these accessions. A fundamental molecular analysis of the hawthorn accessions discovered in this work will encourage the gathering of germplasm and the choice of hawthorn species in upcoming cross-breeding investigations.
