ASMA SIDDIQUI
Abstract
The experiment was conducted in Tissue culture laboratory, Plant Pathology Section, Agriculture Research Institute, Tandojam. The laboratory experiment Murashige Skoog's (MS) medium with different concentrations of plant growth hormone like 6-benzylaminopurine (BAP), naphthalene acetic acid (NAA), indole-3-acetic acid (IAA) with different sucrose percentage. The experiment was conducted twenty different plant growth hormones concentration with three banana (Basrai, W-11 and Grand Naine) varieties were used. Result with varieties showed early day to shoot initiation per bottle observed in variety Basrai, the result with treatments indicated early day to shoot initiation per bottle obtained under treatments of T8, T9 and T10, while under the treatments x varieties indicated that early day to shoot initiation per bottle were observed under treatments of T9, T8 and T17. The result of treatments x varieties indicated that early day to shoot initiation per bottle were observed under treatments of T10, T9 and T8, while late day to shoot initiation per bottle was recorded under treatments of T16, T15, T2, T1 and T3 in variety Grand Naine. Result with varieties showed highest shoots per bottle observed in the variety Grand Naine. Result of treatments with varieties indicated highest shoots per bottle observed under treatments of T11 and T13 in variety Basrai, under treatments of T11 and T13 in variety W-11, under treatments of T7, T9, T11 and T12 in variety Grand Naine. The result of varieties indicated that maximum shoot length per bottle was achieved in variety Grand Naine. The result of treatments x varieties indicated that maximum shoot length per bottle were obtained under treatments of T9, T10, T11 and T12 in variety Basrai, under treatments of T11, T12, T9 and T14 in variety W-11 and under treatments of T6, T7, T8, T11 and T12 in variety Grand Naine. Result of varieties showed maximum number of leaves per bottle observed in variety Grand Naine. The result of treatments with varieties showed maximum number of leaves per bottle observed under treatments of T9, T10 and T11 in variety Basrai, under treatments of T12, T13 and T14 in variety W-11 and under treatments of T15, T14 and T17 in variety Grand Naine.
