Abstract
An experiment was conducted at Jawaharlal Nehru Krishi Vishwa Vidyalaya, Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, India during Rabi session- 2021 and 2022. Study the role of different physico-chemical factors of niger crop on the occurrence of different species of pollinators, 26 diversified genotypes of niger were grown and population of different pollinators visited on each genotypes were recorded at 3, 10, 17, 24, 31, 38 and 45 days after flowering. The highest population of Apis cerana indica, Apis mellifera, Apis dorsata, Apis florea and other pollinators was recorded on genotype T5-NRS-2015 and T6-IGPN-20 (2.50), T20-KBN-2 (1.72), T24-JNC-6 (9.05), T14-PC-2021-1 (2.93) and T2-CTPN-1 (4.18) indivisuals/5 minutes/plant, respectively. The significantly highest brix of total soluble solid (30.17 ºBrix), total sugar (93.33 mg/g), reducing sugar (0.20 mg/g) and non-reducing sugar (93.14 mg/g) was recorded from the flowers of JNC-1 (T26), JNS-28 (T22), IGPN-2004-1 (T21) and JNS-28 (T22), respectively. From the results it confirmed that all the pollinators were attracted to yellow colour flowers but there was no any significant impact were recorded in between different yellow coloured flowers group.
