Exploring the ecological impacts of environmental pollution on plant communities of Thal desert, Pakistan.
Tahreem Riaz
Abstract
The Thal desert in Pakistan has a unique environment with little to no vegetation and scorching temperatures. Many plant species in the Thal desert have evolved to survive in its harsh surroundings. However human endeavors like industrialization, urbanization, and agricultural practices account for much of the environmental deterioration that endangers this fragile ecosystem. The Thal desert's plant communities might be damaged by industrial residue pollution, farm runoff, and vehicle exhaust. Destruction of the environment, ecological imbalances, and a decline in richness might arise from this. Understanding the biological effects of environmental deterioration is essential for the successful conservation and sustainable management of plant communities in the Thal desert.
