Abstract

The present work aims to revise the of genus Eragrostis in Iraq based on literature and herbarium collections from major relevant herbaria such as BAG, BUA, BUH, BUNH, MOS, SUH, and UBE herbaria as well as field survey. 16 species were enumerated. The phenology characters such as length, width , color and shape of spikelets and seeds were examined to isolated the species, it is worth noting that according to our results there are 8 species not endemic but they are near endemic comparison with some countries of the middle east. A key for identifying the investigated species based on phenology, habitat, local, national and global distribution, specimens examined, notes, and photographs are provided for easy identification.
