ETHNOBOTANICAL STUDIES ON SOME USEFUL PLANTS OF DANISHKOOL VILLAGE, TEHSIL PANDYALI, DISTRICT MOHMAND, PAKISTAN

Abstract


In the current study a total 71 plants were reported from Danishkool village, tehsil Pandyli, District Mohmand Agency used by the locals for different traditional purposes. Of these 41 (63%) were herb, 16 (25%) trees, 7 (11%) shrub and 1(1%) species belonging to fungi. Family Solanaceae have maximum number of species 8% followed by Asteracea and Poacea having (7% each). Most of the plants are locally used for multiple purposes such as medicinal, vegetable, fodder, fuel, timber and as thatching material. Mentha longifolia plant were widely used medicinally (12%) followed by Achyrnthes aspera, Foeniculum vulgar (9% each).
