Investigation of macromycete of Himalayan moist temperate forest of Pakistan

Abstract


A new to science species of Tricholoma were identified from Hiamalayan moist temperate forests of Pakistan. Unique feature of Tricholoma himalayanses was having  fusiform cystidia. Specimen was then properly labeled and stored. Sterilized forcep was used for collection of specimen. Macroscopic features observation was performed by using available chart for identification. Microscopic features observation was performed by mounting the material in Congo red and Melzer’s. DNA extraction, PCR amplification and sequencing was performed of specimen. Data was analyzed and phylogenetic tree was constructed. This study provides a baseline for the future researchers in the field of biotechnology, pharamaceuticals, ethnobotany and fungal genetics.
