Abstract
In order to evaluate the morphological variation among local varieties of Lagenaria siceraria, this paper collected 28 local varieties of Cucurbita in China and carried out morphological-agronomic identification. The results showed that the morphological characterization of ornamental gourd germplasm were quite different, and the degree of variation of different characterizations was different. Among the 25 morphological characterizations, the average coefficient of variation of qualitative characterizations was 42.65% and that of quantitative characterizations was 51.03%. Among the 12 qualitative characterizations, the variation coefficient of fruit shape was the largest, which was 79.96%. The coefficient of variation of the early vitality of plants was the smallest, which was 21.33%. Among the 13 quantitative characterizations, the variation coefficients of fruit weight and internode length were very large, which were 106.63% and 106.4% respectively. Cluster analysis showed that when the genetic distance was 16, 28 ornamental gourd germplasms were clustered into 3 categories, namely 'Feidie' and 'Geda' as one category, 'Xinjiang big gourd' and 'Giant tube' as one category, and others as one category. This study lays a foundation for the protection of landrace, the development and utilization of superior variety resources, the cultivation of new varieties and the research and development of medicinal ingredients of Lagenaria plants in China.
