Abstract

This study was carried out in open field conditions in Mersin/Silifke district. In addition to the possibilities of using chemical fertilizers and vermicompost at varying rates in cauliflower cultivation, it has been tried to determine the effective doses on high yield and quality. Plant growth and some quality characteristics (crown length, crown diameter, stem diameter, stem length, crown weight, marketable yield, number of leaves, leaf length and diameter) were examined in the plants harvested when the cauliflower plant completed its development (approximately 120 days). When the results of the study were evaluated, when the effects of varying fertilizer doses and vermicompost applications on all parameters were examined, it was seen that 2KG+VK, KG+VK and 1/2KG+VK applications were at the same level of importance. According to the results obtained, it was determined that the use of vermicompost and chemical fertilizers together increased the yield. The application of 1/2KG+VK between decreasing doses was found to be important in terms of the objectives of our study, as it gives effective results in terms of both reducing chemical fertilizers and maintaining yield and quality. As a result, it was concluded that the common use of chemical fertilizers with organic fertilizers could be reduced by 50%, and it was seen that the effect of effective hoeing, correct irrigation and fertilization were important in obtaining these results.
