	MEDICINAL PLANT COLLECTION AND TAXONOMIC IDENTIFICATION S. I. ALI Abstract: All the world over, plants and plant products have been used for the treatment of human sufferings and diseases. Problems involved at the level of collection, storage, over-exploitation, cultivation of medicinal plants by conventional methods and through in vitro cultures are discussed. The significance of the voucher specimens and above all the reliability of the identification of medicinal plants is pointed out.
