CYPSELA MORPHOLOGY OF SOME GENERA IN THE TRIBE GNAPHALIEAE (ASTERACEAE) FROM PAKISTAN

Abstract: Micromorphological characters of cypsela of the tribe Gnaphalieae were studied using light and scanning electron microscopy. In all 19 taxa including in Cymbolaena smoljan, Filago L., Ifloga Cass., Lasiopogon Cass., Leontopodium R.Br. ex Cass., and Phagnalon Cass., were examined. Cypsela features were found useful for assessing the taxonomic delimitation both at the generic and specific levels.
