PHOTOTROPIC RESPONSE OF DECAPITATED COLEOPTILES

Abstract: Unilateral illumination of decapitated coleoptiles of Avena and Zea, in the first positive nge, showed phototropic response when supplied with indoleacetic acid. These observations are in- rprted as support for the hypothesis that the primary effect of light is to impair the basipetal movement ' the auxin.
